Janet Mrutu currently serves as the Chief Finance & Commercial Officer at UBX (T) Ltd, formerly Business Connexion (T) Ltd (BCX), providing leadership in all aspects of the company’s financial operations and treasury functions. With a self-motivated and focused approach, she demonstrates high integrity and a proven track record in effective finance management. Her journey with UBX began in 2010 as a Senior Accountant, followed by a promotion to Finance Manager in 2013, and subsequently to her current role in 2016. Before joining UBX, Janet contributed her expertise to the National Bank of Commerce (NBC).

Over the years, Janet has consistently demonstrated a high level of integrity and unwavering loyalty to the company. Her notable achievements include the development of a robust Tax Compliance practice within the organization, meticulous record-keeping, strict adherence to laws and regulations, and effective financial management. Janet’s dedication has resulted in the generation of clean financial reports that have not only instilled trust within the market but have also garnered the confidence of regulators and industry standard setters. This trust is evident in the company’s ability to provide services, some of which are utilized by international service providers and multinational corporations. It underscores the critical role of effective financial management at UBX, without which the company wouldn’t be entrusted by national and international stakeholders, bankers, and esteemed regulators such as BOT and TCRA. Notably, UBX takes pride in being a large taxpayer, maintaining unwavering compliance with tax regulations.

Janet holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Consulting (MBA – Consulting) from the Eastern & Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI) earned in 2007. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), registered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) as an Associate Accountant – ACPA(T) since 2007. Furthermore, Janet possesses an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from the Institute of Finance Management (IFM), completing her studies in 1998.
