Peter Paul embarked on his career journey with UBX in 2007 as a Systems Engineer, contributing significantly to the integration of new banks and the installation of ATMs within the UmojaSwitch financial systems infrastructure. His dedication and proficiency led to his promotion in 2009 to Senior System Engineer (EFT Systems), where he played a pivotal role in developing new features and systems within the financial system ecosystem.

In 2012, Peter ascended to the role of Senior Manager for Business Solutions, overseeing a team of developers working on financial and non-financial solutions for government and private entities. The same year, he was appointed as Senior Manager for Applications Research and Development, spearheading the innovation and development of various solutions, including Share Mobile Banking, UhuruPay, Local Government revenue collection systems, and Ticketing systems (cash and card). In recognition of his continued contributions, Peter was appointed as Chief: ASD in 2021, leading efforts to support and develop various software solutions.

In his current role as Chief Officer for Applications and Software Development, Peter Paul oversees software development and support activities, ensuring products are developed within set timelines and budgets while maintaining high-quality standards and aligning with UBX’s strategic objectives. He is a solution-centric leader with extensive experience in the payment industry, digital channels, and leading innovative software initiatives. Peter combines strategic insight with hands-on technical expertise, having risen through the ranks from a junior position to a senior level within UBX’s management team.

Peter holds an Advanced Diploma in IT and Management from the Institute of Finance Management and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is a PRINCE II Practitioner in Project Management and possesses certificates in ITIL, PCI DSS Implementation and Development, and Postilion EFT Switch.

His vision for ASD is to be a consistent source of value, bringing expertise, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence to every facet of their work, ensuring transformative and impactful contributions toward company growth. The vision is centered on establishing a robust software development framework where thorough attention to structure, foundation, processes, and procedures becomes the bedrock of UBX development operations. He is committed to creating an environment where every element aligns seamlessly to guarantee the delivery of high-quality software products. His major interest lies in exploring technologies such as Crypto Currency, Block Chain, and AI bots.
